Actually, AFK cloakers are hamsters best friends. At worst, they reduce the load on the servers considerably. Consider all those AFKTARS that don't undock and unload their drones (each drone literally takes nearly the same cpu load as the ship itself).
This is not counting AFKTARS that get destroyed. |

I don't really want to see any major changes with the cloaking mechanics, but I would be in favor of removing safe-logoff for cloaky afk campers in alliance-held sov. Maybe you have a six hour timer or something absurd like that where you can be scanned down. Just a little something to promote some movement, such as forcing the camper to actually leave the alliance-held space before logging off. |

I think cloaking is just fine.
But here's an idea: the mobile Cyno disruptor deployable. Give it an extra function: the ability to offline and retrieve/reuse it so long as you do so before its standard timer expires. |

I'm cool with a system deployable that lets the sov owner send out a pulse that decloaks all non-alliance ships in system. Put a cool-down of something like 1 hour on it. While the pulse will decloak ships, those ships can just re-cloak again once their cloak timer is up. This will still allow for cloaky camping, but it will now be mostly just 'active' cloaky camping. |

Might be fun to give portable cyno inhibs some new functions. Let them be re-useable (if scooped before their timer is up), and how about let them decloak all ships within their operation range?
Of course this tool can now be used offensively to potentially locate cloaked ships on grid as well...which sound like more boom boom to me =)

I strongly suspect we will soon see a mechanics change allowing to decloak hostile ships in owned sovereign systems. CCP's whole theme of Aegis Sov is to reward the residents actively living in and defending systems, as opposed to the AFK empires of old. AFK cloaking falls under that category. Active cloaky campers will still be a thing, and will be supported in the new mechanic, but AFK cloaking will be punished.
Will we see more content because of changes like this? I would argue yes. In the short term, you will have AFK cloaky campers die left and right, but that will quickly change as they adapt to become active.
The long-term benefit is better. More people will be undocked doing PVE. In my mind, more people being undocked means more chances for combat. |

Did I hear there are now blueprints on SISI for devices to track down cloaked players in space?
...and all it took was a week or two of SMA Gorilla's whining they were being blopsed back into the Mist. |
